A Line for Adults
The wording is the point of this one. It is written to get a laugh from a table of friends in their twenties and thirties, which is a different brief from the grateful lettering sold for a family Thanksgiving. Hung where people are standing with drinks, it gives the evening its tone early. Anyone hosting parents as well may want something milder on the wall.
Cords Through Punched Holes
Each letter arrives already punched, and gold cord comes in the pack to thread them on. Spacing is set by hand as the cord goes through, so the banner can be pulled tight across a narrow doorway or spread wide along a mantel. Hanging needs two pins, two hooks or two pieces of tape at the ends and nothing in between.
Glitter Cardstock, Clean Cuts
Thin letter banners give themselves away at the edges, where the cutting is rough and the glitter sheds onto the table. These are cut from heavy glitter cardstock with clean edges, and the letters hold their shape rather than curling or tearing at the punch hole. The weight is still light enough that a strip of tape holds the whole banner on a painted wall.
Indoors or Covered Porch
Cardstock and glitter do not belong in the rain, so this one is for the dining room, the bar end of a kitchen, a hallway or a porch with a roof over it. Within those places it works above a table, along a fireplace or behind a group getting photographed. After the meal the letters come off the cord and fold flat into an envelope until next autumn.
