Turkey and Autumn Leaves
The print is the traditional version of the holiday rather than a modern one: a turkey, scattered leaves, pumpkins and the warm browns, oranges and golds people already have around the room. Set plain white plates over it and the color arrives from underneath, which saves buying something for the middle of the table on top of everything else. It suits a house that does not otherwise redecorate for one meal.
Sized for the Spread
A Thanksgiving table carries more dishes than any other meal of the year, and they all need somewhere to land at once. At 54 by 108 inches the cover reaches the ends of most extended dining tables and leaves a short drop at the sides. Serving bowls, a carving board and a row of side plates all sit on the same protected surface.
Spills During the Meal
The plastic resists moisture and oil, so a spoonful of gravy off the edge of a dish waits on the surface until somebody gets to it. Nothing soaks through to the wood, and the sheeting is sturdy enough that a serving fork dragged sideways across it does not open a hole. That holds for the whole meal, not only the first course.
Second Table for Kids
The pack holds two, which is the usual shape of the day: the main table and the smaller one set up for children in the next room. Both then belong to the same dinner instead of one looking like an afterthought. If the first cover takes a candle or a full glass of cider partway through, it can be swapped between courses and the spare still gets used.
