Machine Washable Spun Polyester
Flags collect dust, pollen and splashes from the flower bed below them. This one is spun polyester, so at the end of the season it goes in the machine rather than in the bin, and the print comes out of a cold cycle intact. Double stitched panels and a reinforced sleeve take the strain where thin flags fray first, which is the top corner nearest the pole.
Pole Not In The Box
The sewn sleeve at the top fits a standard garden stand, a bracket or an arbor, and the pole is not included because most households already have one pushed into the lawn from last season. Slide the sleeve down, set the stand in soft ground and the flag is up. Indoors the same sleeve takes a dowel or a curtain rod on a wall.
Welcome At The Steps
Twelve by eighteen inches is deliberately small. A flag that size greets people at the steps without dominating a narrow porch or blocking a window, which suits an apartment balcony or a townhouse entry. Set beside a pot of mums it marks the door for trick or treaters after dark, and it reads as part of the display rather than as a sign.
Deck, Yard Or Party Wall
One flag covers more than the front garden. On a deck rail it faces the seating, in the back yard it marks the start of a path between carved pumpkins, and taken off the stand it pins to a wall as a small backdrop for costume photos. Tucked into a party favor bag at the end of the night it becomes a keepsake for a guest.
