Two Banners, Not One
The letter banner and the pennant garland do different work on the same wall. HAPPY HALLOWEEN spells out the occasion above a fireplace or a food table; the triangle pennants fill the long runs where lettering would be lost, along a stair rail or across a window. Hung together, one above the other, they cover a blank wall on their own.
Six Pom Poms Unfold
The pom poms arrive flat and open out into balls of tissue paper, which is the only part of the set that takes a moment of handling. Six of them hung at different drops read as volume rather than as flat paper, filling the corner of a ceiling where a swirl alone looks thin. They squash down again for storage.
Orange, Black And Purple
Purple is what keeps the palette from being a costume cliche. Beside the usual orange and black it reads as the potion and witch end of the season, and it pulls the ghosts, bats and spider webs in the printing together. In a room with warm lamps those three colors hold up better than pastels, which go gray once the lights are low.
Up In An Afternoon
None of it needs assembly beyond unfolding. Hang the banners, attach the swirls, pull the pom poms open, and a living room or a classroom is finished between the school run and the first guest. Paper keeps the whole set light enough for tape, pins or a thumbtack in a ceiling, with nothing heavy over anybody's head.
