Haunted Castle In The Print
The castle is what pushes this past cute Halloween into gothic: a silhouette behind the webs with bats crossing it. Ghosts and lanterns sit closer to the front of the scene. Black carries most of the surface, which is unusual on a dining runner and makes white candles and pale plates stand out sharply against it. Suits an adult dinner more than a toddler party.
Centerpiece On Dark Fabric
Sized for a four to six seat table, the strip gives a dark base for whatever gets arranged on top: a cluster of small pumpkins, black candlesticks, a skull or two and the serving dishes between them. Nothing has to be balanced on bare wood. Guests seated along either side still have the full depth of the table in front of them for plates.
Wax Drips And Scratches
Candles are part of a Halloween table and wax finds its way onto the surface below them. The polyester takes the drips, the scratches from dish bases and whatever gets spilled during the meal, keeping it off the table itself. The fabric is soft rather than stiff, so it lies down properly, and it stands up to being used again every October instead of once.
Dessert Table In The Hall
Most of a Halloween party happens standing up, which puts the pressure on the dessert table and the entry surface rather than the dining table. It shifts to either of those, and to a coffee table, a buffet or a kitchen island as the night goes on. Dark fabric under a tray of cupcakes also hides the crumbs that collect while nobody is clearing up.
