Guests arriving at a graduation party look for the house before they look for the door. A banner across the porch answers that from the curb. This one measures 70 by 13 inches in purple, with Class of 2027 and Congrats Grad lettering, and arrives assembled so there is nothing to string together on the morning of the party.
Nearly six feet of length spans a porch rail, a double door or the width of a garage opening, which is what makes it readable from a passing car. The 13 inch depth keeps the lettering large without covering a window behind it. Hung under an eave it stays out of direct rain while still facing the street.
How it goes up depends on the surface. Nails suit a wooden porch post, hooks suit a rail or a soffit already fitted with them, and tape handles a painted door or interior wall where nothing should be driven in. Being pre-assembled, the banner goes from pack to wall in one step with no panels to align.
Outdoors a banner lifts and folds over itself in wind, which hides half the wording at the moment somebody drives past. Clipping a weight to the bottom edge holds it flat against the porch. Premium polyester resists tearing at the fixing points, so the same banner survives an afternoon of gusts and comes down in one piece.
Class of 2027 with Congrats Grad covers a high school, a college or a doctorate ceremony, since nothing in the wording names a level. Purple reads as a school color for some families and simply as a celebration color for the rest. It coordinates with yard signs, centerpieces and party favors bought for the same class year, so the porch and the tables inside agree with each other.
The first hour of a new school year is hard to fill; six feet of coloring banner on the front table fills it without a lesson plan.
Two red covers printed with bold Class of 2026 lettering, for the dessert table at an open house and the wall behind the photographs.
