Black and gold is the version of graduation decor that the adults in the room respond to, and it photographs well under indoor light. Two covers set the Congrats Grad wording and the class year in gold on a black ground, both measuring 54 by 108 inches. They go over folding tables, a dining table or a pair of trestles in a garage.

Black With Gold Lettering

Gold on black is legible from across a room in a way that pale lettering on a light cover is not, particularly once dishes have covered part of the surface. The scheme also matches most of what gets bought for a graduation, since gold plates, napkins and cutlery are standard. Nothing else on the table has to be chosen to work around the cover.

Cake Table Anchor

One cover usually ends up under the cake, where the photographs are taken and where the year needs to be readable.
