Game day decorating happens in the hour between the shopping and the kickoff, which rules out anything that has to be built. The pendants on this banner are already fixed along a strand of 8.2 feet, so it comes out of the pack and goes onto two hooks. Each football shape measures 10 by 15 centimeters, large enough to read across a living room.

Pendants Hold Their Spacing

Pendants threaded loosely on a cord slide into a clump at one end the moment a banner is lifted. These stay where they were set, so the spacing looks even once the strand is up and stays that way through the afternoon. Straightening a banner over a food table while guests arrive is the sort of job nobody wants to do twice.

Eight Feet Across a Wall

At 8.2 feet the strand covers a mantel, a doorway or the wall behind a dessert table, and it can hang in a shallow curve to take up less width. Two strands pinned at the same height double the depth of a photo background. The cord takes a thumbtack, a small hook or a loop of tape at either end.

Birthday or Watch Party

This covers a child's football birthday and an adult watch party, which is unusual for sports decorating. Children get it low along a dessert table where the pendants sit at eye level. Adults put it above the television or across a garage door. It suits a team party at the end of a season as well, hung along the wall by the food.

Packs Away for Next Season

A football season runs to several gatherings, so a banner that survives being taken down matters more than one that looks right for a single evening. The pendants and the strand hold up to being coiled and dropped in a box with the rest of the game day gear. Nothing has to be restrung before the next Sunday it comes out.
