Hot Pans on the Table
Polyester with high temperature resistance sits between a baking sheet and the table top, which is the part of a party where damage happens. Wings come out of the oven and go straight down the middle. Nobody hunts for a trivet while the pan is burning through an oven mitt, and the wood underneath keeps its finish for the next gathering.
Sized for Four to Six
At 13.8 by 73 inches the runner fits the standard six foot dining table, which seats four to six once the chairs are in. The width leaves room on either side for plates and glasses, so it decorates without taking over the surface. On a longer table it works as the strip under the food, with the seating left plain.
Chili Spills and Wing Sauce
Game day food is the greasy kind. Sauce drips off a wing, someone sets down a bowl of chili too hard, and a paper cover would be in the bin by the second quarter. This one wipes down and goes in the wash, which is why it comes back out for the next round of games rather than being replaced each time.
Indoors or on the Deck
The same strip works on a kitchen island, a sideboard holding the drinks, or a folding table out on the deck when the crowd spills outside. Polyester does not blow around the way a paper cover does once a breeze picks up, and it does not go soft if a cooler sweats on it. Rolled up, it stores with the rest of the party gear.
