Fiesta decorating comes down to a wall that needs covering quickly. Each of these two banners runs ten feet long and a foot deep, so hung one above the other they fill the space behind a taco bar or a drinks table. The fringe carries purple, blue, green, red, orange and gold, the palette papel picado and paper flowers already work in.
The dimensions are what make two packs unnecessary. Ten feet spans a standard doorway with room over, and a one foot depth is deep enough to read as a curtain of fringe rather than a trim. Stacked in two rows the pair covers the top half of a wall, and side by side they run the length of a long serving table instead.
Food stations look unfinished against a bare wall, and a bright fringe fixes that faster than taping up rows of paper cutouts. Hung behind the taco bar or the drinks end of the table, the streamers give the serving area a defined back edge, and the colors carry forward across the table to the plates and bowls without any other decoration being arranged around them.
A ten foot run turns an awkward stretch of hallway or a blank patch beside a door into the place guests stand for pictures. The fringe moves when someone walks past it, so group shots do not come out flat, and it works with handheld photo props or a simple booth frame set up in front of it.
The banners weigh almost nothing, which keeps the hanging simple on surfaces that will not take weight. An office breaking for a Cinco de Mayo lunch can have both lengths up over a lunch hour and down again the same afternoon. The same two panels also suit a taco themed birthday or a final fiesta send off for a bride.
Serape stripes in the full range of fiesta colors, on two 52 by 87 inch covers that wipe down and store for the next taco night.
Fifty-two by eighty-seven inches of waterproof plastic, printed with gingham and bunnies, sized to cover an eight-foot folding table.
