Standard 4R Photos
Frames are cut for 4 by 6 prints, the size that comes back from any photo counter, so there is no trimming or resizing. Most families already have these in an album or a drawer, and the ones that are missing can be ordered from a phone in an afternoon. The border around each opening hides slightly uneven edges, which helps when prints come from different years.
Nine Point Eight Feet
Length is the reason this needs planning. At 9.8 feet the banner covers most of a living room wall, the full width of a stairwell, or the front of a long dessert table. Hung above a table it sits at eye level for anyone standing with a plate, which is where the conversation starts. In a smaller room, draping it in a shallow curve takes up part of the run.
Thick Cardstock Frames
Heavier stock is what keeps loaded frames from sagging, the usual failure of a paper banner carrying a dozen prints. It holds a straight line across the whole span and does not buckle in the middle where the weight collects. The finish is deliberately plain, no glitter and no busy pattern, so a party in school colors, a backyard lunch, or a white kitchen all take it without clashing.
Kept After The Party
Not much party decor survives the cleanup, but this one usually does. The photos come out, or the whole banner gets rolled and put away with the diploma, and it turns up again at a wedding shower or a milestone birthday years later. Assembling it is worth doing a few days ahead, since finding the second grade picture always takes longer than expected.
